5 Steps to Turn Your Dreams to Reality

Do you have a big, juicy, audacious dream?

Something that makes you tingle from your head to the tips of your toes?

Something so fabulous that your inner mean girl says, “no freaking way!" ?

Well ladybug, no dream is too big!

If it couldn’t happen, you wouldn’t be able to think about it. It means that if you can see it, it already exists somewhere in the cosmos. Shit, nobody ever told me that when I was growing up!

Let me give you some examples. When I was kid, I had a problem reading. I had to take special remedial reading classes. When I decided to write a book in 2009, I could see it, I could feel it.

However, based on my previous challenges, I was probably a long shot. I held the vision and in 2012, Alpha Chick  was released and became an Amazon Best Seller with six literary awards.

Since my first book, I have connected with women from all over the globe who've shared my passion to serve women in a meaningful and empowering way. I have to be honest, I never thought I would be emailing and personally interviewing them for my podcast! This is just another example of holding a powerful vision.

In my last email, I suggested taking pictures of your dreams and putting them in a folder.

Now I am challenging you to take action on those dreams.

Here are 5 Steps to Turn Your Dreams to Reality

  1. Who do you need to help you with your dream/vision? Think big again, don’t be shy!
  2. What do you need to do to start the process? Creating a mind map or good outline are excellent places to start.
  3. What are the first three steps you can take to start creating it?
  4. How long do you need to make this happen? Create a time table for yourself. Put dates in your calendar for accountability.
  5. What resources or research do you need?

My own bursts of inspiration have come from going through incredible challenges and difficult things that have knocked me to my knees. I’m suggesting you start manifesting before life throws you an unexpected curveball.

What's a dream you've been dreaming but haven't yet taken action?
Comment below and tell me 3 steps you'll take to make it a reality!

Remembering Loved Ones

It was Memorial Day this past weekend and everywhere you looked or read there were posts about remembering our service men and women who gave their lives for their country. What mixed emotions for their families. They are so proud of their sacrifice and yet still feel the pain of their loss.

There is also remembering those that we loved who have passed. It can be a span of many years and you still feel the sadness. I went to the cemetery to plant flowers at my mother and father’s grave. I think it is also part of an old religious tradition that I was introduced to as a child when I would accompany my mother to my grandmother’s grave for Memorial Day and Christmas time. I have often joked that if I didn’t go lightning would probably strike my car or a tree close by me as a warning to get my ass over there.

Surprisingly when I got to the cemetery early Sunday morning, it was so busy. There were flags everywhere on the military graves and fresh flowers or plantings on so many others. I am so glad I went. However, I left feeling sad that they are no longer with me but I know they are always in my heart.

When I got home, I decided to meditate which stirred up more feelings of loss for my beautiful niece. I held a tiny little pillow in my hands for about thirty minutes that she gave me for her last Christmas before she died. It was so beautiful, I could feel her presence so close to me. My heart was exploding with love.

I realized something right then. What a beautiful spiritual practice this is to feel a deeper connection to a lost loved one.

If you have someone you would like to “spiritually connect” with, hold a picture or an item that belonged to them.

Close your eyes and just feel the energy of the item in your hand.

Send your love to them.

Visualize a ray of light coming out of your heart and touching the item in your hand.

Embrace the stillness and allow your feelings of love to expand from your heart.

Just be open to anything you feel.

You may want to journal afterwards any thoughts or images that you experienced.

I had a powerful realization that my loved ones are very close to me and I should never feel alone. I may not be able to physically see them but my spiritual eyes can.

I hope you will try this mediation. Be patient and practice.

I am a ray of love to all my friends and family

Faith + Courage = Freedom to Exercise our Profound Personal Power

©Olly
©Olly

Throughout our lives as women, we have found ourselves paralyzed by our fears: fear of failure, fear of success, rejection, loss, loneliness, pain, loss of safety, security, and affection, estrangement, separation – the list goes on.  We find ourselves willing to endure our pain because we are afraid, our instinct is to protect ourselves from the risks of change.

But we can come to realize that we are not powerless, worthless individuals at the mercy of the judgment of others.  Our happiness is not dependent on the actions or perceptions of anyone else.  We must accept responsibility for the unhealthy conditions that surround us and restore our personal power.

Giving away our power to the whims of others weakens our spirit.  Many times, pain is the beginning of awareness.  And that pain may awaken our consciousness.

We are who we are because of what we have been through.   We cannot forget the meaning or nature of our journey.  We must use the past and what it can teach us without being controlled by it, and take possession of the cruelties in our past to free ourselves of the bondage to these past events.

We can direct our energies and recognize our personal gains.  Nothing and no one can take them away from us.  We can gain strength from our experiences. We learn through our pain, we accept or reject our burdens, and grow beyond our fears.  We can be unafraid in a world where there is much work to do, truth to seek and love to give and enjoy.  We are free to be who we want to be.

So what is FAITH?  Faith is a strong and steadfast belief in a power greater than ourselves.  It is devotion, loyalty, hope, resolution, trust, acceptance, and confidence.  Faith is belief without proof, leaping before you are positive you will make it to the other side, making a decision before you have ALL the facts or have solved ALL the problems, committing before you are CERTAIN.  We can decide that we have faith in our ability to grow and change.

What is COURAGE?  Courage is taking just one baby step, and then we will find that every time we take a risk, we strengthen our willingness to take another.  Conscious risk taking can be very empowering which leads to greater self-esteem.  Baby steps become leaps.  So take a leap!  What do we really have to lose?  What do we have to gain?

And what is FREEDOM?  Freedom is the ability to make a CHOICE!  Freedom means we are not subject to the control or domination of another; we are not bound, confined or detained by force from other people’s perceptions

Here are 4 tips for your journey:

  • Tap into faith, courage, and the strength of your inner spirit.
  • Strive for the state of being nearly fearless.
  • Don’t be afraid to be yourself, be authentic.
  • Participate in life, don’t just let it happen.

The bottom line is:  Risk It!!!

“To laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach for another is to risk involvement. To expose your feelings is to risk exposing your true self. To place your ideas, your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To believe is to risk despair. To try is to risk failure. But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing. They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live. Chained by their attitudes they are slaves; they have forfeited their freedom. Only a person who risks is free.”
