Real Women Share How to Have It All

I recently met a super cool new friend who thinks just like me and I want you to meet her too.

Her name is Carolina, and she is an expert in helping women create Extraordinary Lives.
As a woman with big dreams and desires, Carolina has challenged herself to have it all: a successful career, a passionate love life, and a healthy body. She followed the steps to create a prosperous life… graduated from a top university, got a prestigious job and found a great guy.
Does that sound familiar?
For years, she worked hard in building her career & giving back to society but no matter how much she achieved she would feel like something was missing. Like many other women she would constantly worry that somehow she wasn’t doing enough, that she was falling behind in one or more areas in her life. She no longer was interested in just achieving success, she was craving to also find true joy.
So she decided to take on a research project to learn from women who have found a way of having it all, both the outer SUCCESS (career, money, health) as well as the feelings of INNER PEACE and LASTING FULFILLMENT. She believes that when as women we share our vulnerable and real stories, as well as the lessons we’ve learned along the journey, we help each other heal, fulfill our deepest desires and rise stronger.
This research project has turned into a video series, where she is interviewing more than 20 women (including me!) who have it all.
It’s called: Women Who Want It All: How to Create Outer Success, Inner Peace and Lasting Fulfillment!

I have a complimentary ticket for you to attend. You can register using this link >> //carolinazuleta.com/event/o/mald/

You’ll be able to watch from your home, office, or on the go.
Here’s what’s going to be covered in the VIDEO INTERVIEWS:
  • What to do to overcome self-doubt and step fiercely into building your dreams
  • How to lead a more open, authentic, loving, and fulfilling life
  • How to eliminate limiting beliefs that are keeping you from achieving success in any area
  • Learn to balance your good girl and wild woman to become truly empowered
  • Overcome any shame you have around your finances or your love life
These interviews are REAL. They’re HONEST conversations with women who have faced struggles and challenges like all of us but who have found a way to reconnect to themselves and create lives that they love. I am honored to share from my own heart the lessons I have learned.
So please join me and these amazing other women who get real and get vulnerable so you won’t make the same mistakes.
Register here with your complimentary ticket to listen in.  //carolinazuleta.com/event/o/mald/
Sending you big love,
Mal Duane

Start your Day Right with a Morning Practice

My meditation room
My meditation room

Wouldn’t it be great to start the day feeling peaceful, focused, and inspired? Every day I start my morning feeling centered and at peace.  My secret is having a morning practice.  Having a daily set of rituals helps you feel grounded in your body, mind, and soul.  Taking time to renew helps you be more creative, productive and energized throughout the day.

I have a meditation tray with all my favorite things that make me feel centered.  It has photographs of people I love, a statue of Buddha, a rosary, and other treasured items.  I am diligent of meditating every day.  I created a special meditation room in my home.  Sometimes I light a candle before I begin. There I can pray, meditate, and find my focus for the day.

Here’s some ideas for things to include in your morning practice.

1) Start the day with coffee, tea, or water

2) Exercise – This can be some stretches, yoga, or a morning walk with the dog.

3) Journal – Writing a few notes in your journal is a way to capture what’s on your mind.  You can start with a journal prompt, writing about the day to come, what you discovered in prayer, meditation, a daily focus… whatever comes to mind.  There are no rules.

4) Prayer/Meditation – Slow down and breath.  Take time to reconnect to the Divine within you.  Listen to the quiet whispers of your soul.  Ask for guidance.  You will be surprised how centered and focused you can be with just a few minutes of morning prayer to ground you.

5) Personal Development – Dedicate yourself to be a lifelong learner. Read a chapter from your favorite book.  Listen to a podcast.  Do a daily devotional.  Read a newsletter from industry experts.  I have a Library of Love I look to for daily growth.  In it are titles like “Simple Abundance” abd “Finding your Own North Star”.

6) Get inspired – Uplift your soul.  This can be reading an affirmation like “I am happy, healthy, and free”.  It may be a word like “courage” that you want to embrace for the day.  Perhaps you found an inspirational quote that sparked your interest. I like to spend 10 minutes internalizing my daily affirmation.

7) Be Grateful – The more your count your blessings, the more blessings you have to count.  Take time to recognize what’s wonderful in your world.  When you appreciate and take joy in what you have, the universe sends you more.

8) Dream and Visualize your Day – What would you like to have, be do? Take a few moments to close your eyes.  Imagine what you’d like to see happen.  Feel it in your heart.  When you feel excited and focus on what you want, it will attract it.  What you think about, you bring about. Create a dream map on the wall.  Have a dream chest with items and pictures that inspire you.  Start a dream folder with pictures about what you’d like to attract into your life.

9) Make a plan – What three things if you did them would make the biggest impact for you?  Tackle the biggest task first while you are sharp and full of energy.

So instead of turning on the computer, hopping into your email, and letting the day control you, setup a morning practice.  It gives you a beautiful, centered time just for yourself.  By easing into your day, you’ll find more joy and stamina to tackle the day. IMG_0059 2015-01-31 14.06.08

Being Your Own Champion

“I think self-awareness is probably the most important
thing towards being a champion.”
Billy Jean King
Olympic Gold Medal Coach, Tennis

With the London 2012 Olympics upon us, I thought it was important to talk about being your own champion. This quote by Billy Jean King, a champion tennis player and a US Olympic Tennis Coach embodies my thoughts on the subject. But, being your own champion doesn’t necessarily involve being an Olympian, it may just involve reaching a small personal goal. But isn’t the path to discovering your true potential and purpose a collection of smaller steps?
I’m a big believer in the power of self-awareness, love and empowerment. I would like to share one of my favorite passages from my book Alpha Chick with you:
“Living my life as an Alpha Chick, I am aware now of my true potential and purpose. Self-awareness and serenity are my reality. Most of the time my life runs like a finely tuned piece of machinery, with all parts working in harmony with one another. I am no longer pulled in conflicting directions. I begin each day knowing and loving the woman I am. I appreciate everything I have: my husband, my health, my homes and my work.”
In life, we can cling to denial so vehemently, that it may become all we know. It blocks out positive energy and binds us to the past. But once you release your self-awareness, you can begin to accept what has happened in your past, stop resisting it and find forgiveness. Only then, you can approach life with a new attitude.
I invite you to download the Alpha Chick Action Guide which is based on the Five Steps for Moving from Pain to Power that helped me change my life dramatically and is the structure of my coaching and my book Alpha Chick. The five steps together spell FAITH, embrace your FAITH and use the guide to help you through the changes that are necessary to discover your true voice and become your own champion.
F  Focus
A  Acceptance
I   Identification
T  Thoughts
H  Healing

Congratulations on making the commitment to begin your personal transformation and embarking upon an amazing journey toward self-empowerment.

Give A Hug and A Pinch of Prosperity

I listened to a fascinating web recording the other day of Ellie Drake, founder of BraveHeart Women.  She was discussing Oxytocin, which she called the prosperity hormone. What a great name she has given it.  It has also been referred to as the love hormone.  Women produce it during child birth and it helps them with the delivery and then bonding with the child.  Well, Oxytocin makes women feel good, secure and more willing to engage with other people. When we are distressed or fearful, if we could produce Oxytocin rather than Adrenalin what a difference it could make for the quality of our relationships, communications and productivity. A simple hug can help with the production of Oxytocin.  Listen to this fascinating video, Dr Cohen discusses Oxytocin

Give your Alpha Chick friends a hug today and pass the prosperity around.  Please post comments on how you feel!

A Matter of Perspective

I Choose To Feel Good!

I am feeling totally overwhelmed from the weather and just about ready hit myself on the head with a shovel or jump on a plane.  Then I start thinking, who is in control here?  What have I been practicing all these years about positive thinking and perspective. I read a great quote yesterday from Cathy Matarazzo, Spiritual Coach and Author.

“EVERYTHING lies within the PERSPECTIVE we choose to  EMBRACE!!”

To me, that says it all. I can focus on the ice dams that are leaking into my basement or make a shift and watch Hannah, my beautiful little dog thoroughly enjoy her perspective of her first winter.  She just loves it.  So, I guess it really comes down to what is going to make me feel good.  What is your choice?
