I am going to share with you this week the craziest and almost dangerous thing I did to myself because I was so self-absorbed and not paying attention to what I was doing. I was lucky but I have since heard stories of some real disasters from people who did the same thing when they were not paying attention.
There is a very powerful lesson from this simple mistake.

Hi Mal,
Within the last 3 months I have TWICE put water on the gas stove to boil and gone into the office and totally forgotten it until I heard the saucepan cracking from the heat. My electric jug has died and I’ve decided to use the gas as it’s far more convenient until you put your life at risk by allowing the water to boil dry and the saucepan to get so hot it’s ready to catch fire.
I will buy a whistling kettle as soon as I remember when I’m shopping but until then I wont allow myself to put water on to boil unless I’m in the kitchen or dining area as they flow onto one another and i can’t get distracted. I was putting the microwave timer on but forgot on both these occasions so now it’s DON”T DO IT!
Bye for now from another who sometimes doesn’t focus~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Maureen, I must admit I have done similar things. Put something on the stove and then started working on my computer. What a wake up call. Thank you for sharing!
