Signs Indicating a Spiritual Awakening

Do you have a desire to detox your body or declutter your home? Are you experiencing anxiety or panic attacks, strange body sensations, depression, fatigue, headaches, heart palpitations, or hot/cold flashes? Have you noticed significant changes in your relationships, libido, careers, sleep patterns, and dietary preferences?  Maybe you are hearing/seeing in other dimensions and have observed an increase in psychic gifts, synchronicities, and emotional responses. These are some of the signs that you are undergoing a spiritual awakening.  Yvonne Perry’s Shifting into Purer Consciousness ~ Integrating Spiritual Transformation with the Human Experience is a marvelous book filled with valuable information that provides just about everything you need to know to support your journey through the ascension process, which is a path from chaos to peace. You may learn more about Yvonne and her book at //shiftingintopurerconsciousness.com.

As part of the virtual book tour for Yvonne’s latest book, I am sharing an article titled “Signs Indicating a Spiritual Awakening.”

Signs Indicating a Spiritual Awakening

By Yvonne Perry

The ascension (spiritual awakening) is the shift we are all making on our path home to Source—oneness. We are leaving the condition of duality and separation where ego reigns over our thoughts and actions. Symptoms—the physical and emotional responses we have to this process—may come in the form of sickness, body aches and pains, financial loss, emotional despair, significant life changes, or an opening of supernatural abilities. Thankfully, the energy to manage and heal the symptoms is available.

Body Sensations

As the biological body shifts into the light body, the old cellular structure is dissolving, giving birth to a new crystalline structure. For some who are sensitive, this can be an uncomfortable experience until enough of the form has been transmuted to allow for a purer vibration to take hold. The detoxification process can bring about body aches and pains (flu-like symptoms) or fatigue that our current medical doctors cannot explain or treat. It is not uncommon to experience unusual sensations in your body or chakras. There could be pressure on top of your head, tingling on your scalp or forehead (especially between your eyebrows), or energy surges in your body. Pain, hot flashes, and chills are also reported.

The body aches and pains may be directly related to regions in the subtle bodies that are blocked or stuck. Headaches may indicate that the third eye is opening. Stomach aches could indicate that you are stuffing your feelings/emotions. Chronic cough and sore throat may indicate a blocked fifth chakra. These symptoms should subside once the energetic condition is cleared and the body has acclimated to the new vibration. Until then, take advantage of acupuncture, aromatherapy, exercise, herbs, homeopathic remedies, mineral and vitamin supplements, salt baths, massage, or other holistic methods necessary to handle the pain.

Because organs and glands within the body are changing to accommodate the light body, you may have a feeling that your arms, hands, feet, or legs may tingle when you are meditating or doing conscious breathing. For more than ten years, I have experienced the sensation that someone is lightly touching or playing with my hair. I’ve also felt that I’m half in and half out of my body or that my spirit is too large to fit inside my skin. It’s hard to explain, but at times it feels like time has no meaning.

Decluttering, Detoxing, and Simplifying

Sell, toss, and repurpose! Do you sense a need to detox, declutter, and simplify life? You may be asking yourself “Why am I keeping this junk? I don’t even remember why I wanted this item.” My spending patterns have changed. I buy less quantity and higher quality. I have no reservation about purchasing something I want and find I can wait until I find what I really want before I make a purchase.

I’ve been cleaning out and giving stuff away on a regular basis. I can feel the energy shift when I clean a room or closet. Not just my physical dwelling, but my computer files as well. I just can’t stand clutter.

I’ve also been on a reduce-reuse-recycle campaign and admit that it feels good to donate stuff to charity, knowing that someone else may find it useful. I think Lynn Serafinn’s book, The 7 Graces of Marketing: how to heal humanity and the planet by changing the way we sell has had a profound influence on me. While I don’t tend to store things needlessly, I can typically see a new purpose for an old item and I’m quick to adapt it.

You may also get the urge to detox your own body. I find myself asking, “Why do I want to eat/drink this?” If I can’t answer with a reason that satisfies my spirit, I usually find something else to nourish my body.

Increased Emotional Responses

Have emotional issues you thought were healed reappeared? It is common for old emotional patterns to resurface to be cleansed and healed at deeper levels. You may notice your limiting beliefs and self-destructive patterns emerging. You may have flashbacks of repressed memories stored at the cellular level. Acknowledge these emotions, but stay present and non-resistant. Simply allow them to flow through. On the other side of this coin, you may have fewer emotional responses to what is going on around you. Things that used to bother you doesn’t even register on your “who gives a crap” meter.

Many people in the online groups that I participate in (such as the Empathy Connection on Facebook) are noting an increase in their emotional responses to the pain and suffering of others. They pick up on the thoughts, feelings, emotions, or even physical illnesses around them and may feel sadness, anger, panic attacks, or anxiety that does not belong to them.

We’ve heard so much about the coming shift in our world, but Yvonne Perry’s Shifting into Purer Consciousness is the first truly practical manual for navigating the ascension process. This enables anyone who wishes to raise one’s frequency to have a perfect pathway for ascendency and become the pure light of grace on the planet.  ~ Jackie Lapin, author of the award-wining bestseller Practical Conscious Creation: Daily Techniques to Manifest Your Desires (www.jackielapin.com)

Yesterday, the tour stopped at Denise Demaras blog. Tomorrow the tour will be at Lisa Molinelli’s Empowering Minds blog and I invite you to visit that site to learn more about the spiritual transition we are currently in. See the full tour schedule at //dld.bz/byrF7.

Entrepreneurs to Lead the Way to a More Ethical Business Future

7 Graces Global Conference

The term ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ (CSR) has been a buzz word in both the business and environmental worlds over the past few years. The message of those who speak out for CSR is simple: the time has come for businesses to move away from thinking only about short-term profits and look at the bigger impact their business has upon the global economy, people and the planet.

We live in a consumer culture. This means that, today more than ever, the entrepreneur has a powerful role to play in society. We all know that with great power comes great responsibility, and given all the ways business and marketing has affected the world, more and more entrepreneurs are waking up to the fact that it is time to reassess what we are doing and why, and to take responsibility for the impact our choices and actions have on the wider welfare of the world.

This cannot happen if we continue we all act in isolation. To create a tangible and positive shift in the world, we need to come together as business owners, and form a critical mass of key influencers in society. We need both to speak up and to listen to each other.

That is exactly what will be happening at the 7 Graces Global Conference (7GGC). The 3-day conference will take place on Friday June 22nd through Sunday 24th, 2012 in London, England and will also be broadcast worldwide via Interactive Live Stream.

7GGC will bring together entrepreneurs, marketers, media professionals, journalists, conscious consumers and eco-citizens from around the world, who wish to demonstrate their commitment to business ethics, corporate responsibility, social wellbeing and environmental sustainability. Together, they will become a Tipping Point for positive change. You can read about the conference, and book you place, at //the7gracesofmarketing.com/7GGC.

The conference will also be offered via Interactive Live Stream, accessible from anywhere in the world with Internet access, where you can share your opinions, questions and innovations with London delegates.

The event will feature 9 dynamic guest presenters including Keynote speaker RACHEL ELNAUGH, former ‘Dragon’ from BBC TV’s hit show DRAGONS’ DEN.

The 7 Graces Global Conference is the brainchild of my good friend, LYNN SERAFINN, a marketer and author of number-1 bestseller The 7 Graces of Marketing: how to heal humanity and the planet by changing the way we sell.

Lynn says, ‘We won’t be “selling” anything at this conference except our commitment to humanity and the planet. The primary question we’ll be addressing throughout the three days will be “How can we heal humanity and the planet by changing the way we sell?”‘

I am proud to be supporting 7GGC by helping spread the word about this important event, and I encourage you to attend either the London conference, or via Interactive Live Stream. And, as one of my valued readers, you can also get a special 10% discount when you register:

The Focus On Happiness

Come on get happy!

June is a great month to focus on happiness. There are all kinds of great things going on that create happiness for families everywhere. Graduations and weddings fill this month’s calendar, but on a more personal note, how are you going to experience happiness this month?

Here are five suggestions that can
really put a smile on your face
  1. Start a gratitude journal.Write five things down at the end of the day that you really appreciated. You will not believe how this energy grows and before you know it you will be experiencing so much appreciation in your life for all the wonderful small things you never noticed before.
  2. Connect with nature. Now is the prettiest time of year, whether you live at the beach, the mountains or even in a city. Flowers are in bloom and people are embracing the warm weather and wearing colorful, fun fashions. Take walks, take pictures, create a vision board of all the beautiful things you see outside. Pinterest is an invite only social media site which is a great tool for sharing images online. If you are not already on Pinterest ask me for an invite. If you are,  Follow Me on Pinterest.
  3. Connect with animals. Being around animals brings a wonderful feeling of connection that you can’t find anywhere else and Summer is the perfect time of year to adopt a pet. Local shelters have many cat and dogs of all ages and temperaments just waiting to be adopted. If you’re not ready for a full time commitment, why not get your dose of complete and unconditional love by pet sitting for a friend, volunteering at a local shelter or fostering a shelter pet until a suitable home can be found.
  4. Volunteer. Helping others just feels good. This time of year there are tons of charitable events to get involved in: participate in a walk or run for a charity that is important to you; join your community garden or start one; donate your time to local organizations that help kids or the elderly. When you give you feel so much better than when you are receiving.
  5. Celebrate. There are so many wonderful events happening in June. The founding of Alcoholics Anonymous, Father’s Day, Flag Day, Summer Solstice, outdoor concerts and street fairs and Take Your Dog to Work Day, one of my dog, Hannah’s favorites. Get out there and be HAPPY, it’s contagious!

Happiness is an important seed in the garden of our soul. I love this quote which really describes how we are each responsible for our own happiness and the need for it to nourish and grow.

“Happiness and sadness run parallel to each other. When one takes a rest, the other one tends to take up the slack”

A Special Treat: Kate Loving Shenk’s Prayer Prescriptions

Today I have the special honor of hosting my dear friend Kate Loving Shenk’s Virtual Book Blog Tour!  I’m so honored to have Kate on my blog.  Her book is coming out very soon and is fantastic (I’m in it too!).  Here now is Kate’s wonderful post!

Thank you, Mal, for featuring day 19 of my virtual book tour on your blog today. I am honored.

As I have said many times, prayer is a universal language. I have been working in the healthcare profession for 28 years, and most of that time has been spent with women. Nursing is 95% a woman’s profession. Women notoriously do not ask for help.

Prayer is a way of asking for help. Simply asking, God, please help me, opens the opportunity for the angelic realms, higher guides, higher power, and all the unseen helpers to flock in and assist you onto your path of destiny.

Emergencies come up all the time in my work as a nurse. After all, we are in the business of saving lives. We cannot do this all by ourselves. When we remember that we are never alone, and we elicit help from the unseen helpers through the power of prayer, miracles always occur. There are no exceptions.

According to the book, A Course In Miracles, a miracle is a change in perception. This perception entails a change from fear to love.

Fear based thinking is detrimental to your health.

Love-based thinking heals your entire mind, body and spirit.

Alpha Chicks heal their lives with love. This vibration filters out to heal the whole wide world.

Thanks for visiting today. You are loved.

-=-=-=-===-=

I’d like you to stop by my author blog. There’s a lot going on there and we’ll have an opportunity to connect there. Please be sure to introduce yourself!

//katelovingshenk.com/

Kate has been a practicing RN/CRNP for 28 years, and currently acts as a Labor And Delivery Nurse, which is very special, indeed.

Additionally, Kate is planning further “Prayer Prescriptions” books surrounding aging gracefully and Prayer Prescriptions For The Love Of Our Companion Animals.

The Role of Helping Others

A Q&A with Mal Duane. Interviewed by Andrew Mondia, founder of The Pear Shaped View

Andrew Mondia: What is your view in the role of helping others?

Mal Duane: I feel in life that helping others to heal and to live life with joy is a key part of why we are here. There is a universal law of circulation that what you give out in life returns to you. By helping others you also help yourself to stay centered and strong.

I talk about healing and helping as the fifth step of the Five Steps of Faith in the Alpha Chick Process. You recognize your own strength and vibration that you give to the universe when you are healed. When I reference the term “healed”, I am saying that you restore yourself to the perfect divine being you are meant to be, to live your life with joy and passion. Life presents you with challenges from which you should learn.

Unfortunately, many times these lessons pull you from your path and consume you physically, mentally and emotionally. However you were given a divine guidance within that shows you the way to balance and clarity.

Reinforcing your clarity comes from turning to others you know and sharing that guidance. We are all divine beings here to support one another in life.

Live Faithfully,
Mal Duane

What is Faith?

The foundation for the process of personal transformation and creating positive change in your life is through the use of Faith. I write about this extensively inAlpha Chick.  Anything you want to be, to have or to do, can be directly linked to the amount of Faith you hold within.

Faith is not tied to a specific religion but rather our personal connection to spirituality. It is our interpretation of our beliefs that we want to manifest in our physical experience. It is Faith that creates the growth of the seeds we plant in our gardens. We must water the seeds with hope and fertilize them with love. Our garden will yield that which we have Faith in, or so as we believe.

We do not have to go to any specific church or service to connect with Faith. We can wake up and embrace it every morning. Faith is always available to us, no matter what we do or how we behave. Faith is always there. It doesn’t judge one over another. We never really lose it; it just becomes misplaced in the darkness of our soul. However once we step back into our light, the brilliance of Faith comes shining through.

Faith is the driving force behind all desires. Faith ignites desire and desire is the energy that is the power of creation in our lives. Everyone can hold this powerful magnetic force; nothing can take it away except your lack of belief or negative thoughts. In the same manner, we have the ability to multiply it. When I am unsure, I reach out to my Faith, it assures me and comforts me when I am in pain. I reach out to Faith when I feel I can’t go on in a situation, it lifts me up and puts me back on my spiritual path.

Why is it that so many ignore the existence of Faith or choose not to use it? Faith is one of the most precious gifts we are given in life. It does more good than money; it brings more wisdom than knowledge. You can’t touch it with your hand but you can feel it with your whole body. It is one of the mysterious miracles of life.

Simple but perfectly said, “You block your dreams when you allow your fear to become greater than your Faith,”- Mary Manin Morrisey.

What is keeping you from using Faith in your life to create everything you want?

Live Faithfully,
Mal Duane

Review by Dr. Irene Conlan – Alpha Chick: Five Steps for Moving from Pain to Power

I’m honored by the extensive review of Alpha Chick from Dr. Irene Conlan, founder of The Self Improvement Blog.

Here is Dr. Conlan’s complete review of Alpha Chick:

“Mal Duane has a story to tell and tells it brilliantly in her recently released book, Alpha Chick: Five Steps for Moving from Pain to Power. Hers is not a story of a struggle from rags to riches. It is a story that reveals the deep suffering each of us can experience regardless of financial status, beauty, intelligence and ability or talent. Mal had all of these even though she wasn’t always aware of them. Her suffering came from her own belief that she wasn’t “good enough,” didn’t “measure up. ” Being a successful model and becoming financially successful in real real estate didn’t prove to her that she was worthy of a loving, successful relationship and high self esteem. She spent ten years battling an alcohol addiction that she used to help her cope with her inner pain.

Her story, however, is much more than a story of moving from helplessness to empowerment, from drunkenness to sobriety or from”not good enough” to an Alpha Chick. It is a story of service, of giving back, of reaching out to others. It is a story of a woman who, like the Phoenix, rose from the proverbial ashes of insecurity and became a powerful force to help women who were also in pain. It was from her own suffering that the “Alpha Chick” was born – “a spiritual being who has worked to deepen her connection with and faith in the Divine presence within—your source of guidance, passion, and personal power—in order to meet life’s challenges with purpose and strength.”

The second part of the book is what Mal came to understand as a practice that would help other women rise out of the ashes of their own specific suffering. Her program is explained by the acronym FAITH which represents Focus, Acceptance and Attitude, Identification and Intention, Thoughts, and Healing and Helping. It is a program that works. It is practical, down to earth, and doable. It is flexible and can be followed by any woman regardless of her financial situation, social status, or spiritual path. Mal gives you the information you need to complete each step and holds your hand while you do the deep inner work and complete the exercises that help you move through each challenge.

Mal Duane has bravely opened herself to the scrutiny of all who read her book – not in a “poor me” way or in a “look how wonderful I am” way. She has opened herself in a manner that is honest, warm, strong and loving to help other women triumph over their own suffering. It is an act of bravery reserved to those who have come to have a deep understanding and acceptance of who they are and what they have to offer to the world.

I recommend this book to those women (and men) who are struggling with self esteem issues, who are fighting an addiction, who are stifled by unloving relationships, who seem to be going backwards in their life rather than forward. If you aren’t satisfied with your decisions and where your life is headed, Alpha Chick could hold some important answers for you. Mal has made available to everyone an Action Guide that will help you get started NOW – even before you get the book. You simply need to download it. It is good. Take a look.”

Mal Duane

Charlene Proctor-Oneness Gospel

Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 4 of the Virtual Blog Tour of author Charlene M. Proctor whose book The Oneness Gospel:  Birthing the Christ Consciousness and Divine Human in You launches on Amazon on Tuesday April 24, 2012.

Charlene M. Proctor, Ph.D. is an ordained Minister of Spiritual Peacemaking and a “Deeksha” facilitator trained by the oneness guides from Fiji and India.  She is the bestselling author of Let Your Goddess Grow! 7 Spiritual Lessons on Female Power and Positive Thinking and The Women’s Book of Empowerment: 323 Affirmations That Change Everyday Problems Into Moments of Potential. Her Midwestern sensibility and spiritual approach to self-empowerment has helped thousands awaken to their Divine magnificence within.

Author Charlene M. Proctor, Ph.D. has written a new book that brings us back to the Essence of true spirituality. The book, entitled The Oneness Gospel: Birthing the Christ Consciousness and Divine Human in You, is a rich mix of science, spirituality and mysticism that transcends the boundaries of religion, and uplifts the reader to that place of Oneness. An ordained Minister of Spiritual Peacemaking and a Deeksha facilitator trained by the oneness guides from Fiji and India, Charlene’s mission in life is to help awaken to their Divine magnificence within all humanity.

Yesterday, Charlene visited Gill Potter at //yoursacredpurposeblog.com/2012/04/virtual-interview-with-charlene-m-proctor/, where they talked about biggest diseases, enlightenment and “The dark night of the soul.”

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Charlene when I got to ask her some questions on deeksha, letting go and releasing suffering.  I hope you enjoy it.

——-

Mal Duane: I would love to know more about receiving deeksha. Is this something others can do?

Charlene M. Proctor: Many believe enlightenment is a neurobiological event and happens through grace, or the holy presence. It is the ability to disengage from old emotions, traumas, habits, assumptions, traumas, conditioning, and the masks you have constructed in order to survive. Enlightenment is high level of awareness. Indian traditions teach that enlightenment can only be given as a gift of grace, where it facilitates a neurobiological change in the brain.

This neurobiological shift happens through means of a transfer of energy known as the deeksha which is meant to re-pattern the structure and physiology of the brain. At the Oneness University, this blessing was freely given by Sri Amma Bhagavan and has grown as a movement for many years. As a person receives deeksha, they find himself or herself in a state of enlightenment. This is not necessarily a mystical state, but simply a state of experiencing reality as it is, without the limiting filters and conditioning of the human mind. Many westerners are currently seeking this experience.

Receiving deeksha often feels like you are being scrubbed clean. It is an experience of being loved unconditionally, in a state of total bliss, peace, and calm.  You feel fully present with no negative emotions or worries. Many report feeling a state of innocence, freedom, and non-judgment.

Mal Duane: What methods do you use to let go of old programming?

Charlene M. Proctor: Filtering life through “old programming” is a widespread experience that many people feel they are living life unconsciously. Their reaction to current day situations stems from past behaviors or experiences that prevent them from living a full life.  Old programming is the carryover of emotional patterns. We inherit these patterns from culture and our families. Negative statements such as “women cannot do this” or “you are not good enough” are examples. Religion is responsible for a lot of societal conditioning, as well as old traumas, dramas, or stories. This becomes a ‘knee jerk reaction to living’ and results in a person living on autopilot where every experience is filtered through old programming.

A step toward personal growth is a willingness to release the past and chose the present moment, to a life that is filled with joy and awareness of what is.

Affirmations are positive present day statements that bring awareness of WHAT IS. Remember, all conditioning is negative because it takes away our awareness of what is. We resolve it by being aware, seeing, asking for grace. So, be willing to look at any conditioning that alters your view of reality.

In India, there is a process called Samskara Shuddhi. Shuddhi is a Sanskrit word that translates as “cleansing or purification.” Indeed there are many types of purification. There is physical cleansing that can be achieved through techniques such as nadis shuddhi, alternate nostril breathing. Samskara Shuddhi is the practice of cleansing past impressions, experiences or relationships (samskaras).

You enter a fairly intense process of self-examination during which you are offered the opportunity to see yourself from many facets, including the deep, dark and ugly. You see and clear your emotional issues, your negative conditioning and childhood patterns, and let go of the fixed ideas that have held you in suffering for so long. You then move along into a process of emptying, through which you see “through” the self, and thereby free yourself from the self. From this new state of being, one is prepared for others phases of awakening.

Mal Duane: How can women release suffering?

Charlene M. Proctor: A step toward personal growth is our willingness to release the past and chose the present moment.

With any family there is always some suffering. Carrying huge burdens of magnitude or watching a family member spiral into a personal hell is not easy. There is emotional suffering for all involved with diseases, such as cancer, alcoholism, drug addiction, or whatever the family member is going through. Women, and especially mothers, take that on as their own.

Emotional trauma takes a physical toll on a human being and we carry that in our energy layers, our koshas, and it perpetuates disease. These stick in our bodies and are called emotional charges. Prayer and meditation can help release these charges, being blessed by others, affirmative thinking, forgiveness, and opening your heart to someone, no matter the circumstance. Deeksha is important as well, as it helps loosen up the emotional charges in our bodies, and helps us release them.

We, in the West, are experts at suffering management.  We stuff our suffering. We go to therapy, eat, drink, complain, get mad at our families, run away, watch TV, shop more, and look for love in the wrong places. We don’t face our suffering head on and allow it to fill us. We need to feel it and stay with that pain until it passes. We think that the way to deal with suffering is to contain and manage it.  That is not the key to living in joy and the way to fully experiencing life.

Part of a woman’s suffering is thinking we must live life perfectly, or like a perfect person without anger, being positional, fear, or any negative emotions.  We will always have those emotions, as long as we are on the planet.  The key to not being in suffering is to move through our negative states quickly and efficiently, without causing harm to others. Recognize when you are suffering and be willing to let it go!

Defining Your Spiritual Practice

A Q&A with Mal Duane. Interviewed by Andrew Mondia, founder of The Pear Shaped View

Andrew:  How can different forms of Spiritual practice helps others and what ones do you find help you?

Mal: I use meditation, prayer and journaling every day to become centered in my higher consciousness. A spiritual practice is something that you make personal to you. There is no wrong or right way, just what feels comfortable to you. You need to take time to slow the chatter of your mind down from the daily distractions so that your higher voice can come through and guide you on your path.  If you can create a sacred space for doing your spiritual practice, it helps you to connect to that inner voice you are looking for. I use a special chair in my home. I have a wonderful candle, some beautiful pictures of people who I love, a lovely small Buddha and beautiful mala beads I got as a gift. They are placed on a tray so if I need to move them, I can do so easily. This is my special place to meditate and connect daily to my divine guidance. Instantly, I am able to relax in my sacred space. The beautiful aroma of my candle helps me to connect to my heightened awareness.

At first you may be restless but with time the mental distractions slow down and open your mind to a different voice. You begin to experience the peace and love of the divine guidance emerging from your soul. A light begins to shine on your path and your ability to make choices becomes so clear to you. You start to stand in your power; you understand who you are and your true purpose for living. Everything starts to make sense and you begin to release those things that no longer support your journey. You understand for the first time that you are perfect just the way you are.
