A Special Treat: Kate Loving Shenk’s Prayer Prescriptions

Today I have the special honor of hosting my dear friend Kate Loving Shenk’s Virtual Book Blog Tour!  I’m so honored to have Kate on my blog.  Her book is coming out very soon and is fantastic (I’m in it too!).  Here now is Kate’s wonderful post!

Thank you, Mal, for featuring day 19 of my virtual book tour on your blog today. I am honored.

As I have said many times, prayer is a universal language. I have been working in the healthcare profession for 28 years, and most of that time has been spent with women. Nursing is 95% a woman’s profession. Women notoriously do not ask for help.

Prayer is a way of asking for help. Simply asking, God, please help me, opens the opportunity for the angelic realms, higher guides, higher power, and all the unseen helpers to flock in and assist you onto your path of destiny.

Emergencies come up all the time in my work as a nurse. After all, we are in the business of saving lives. We cannot do this all by ourselves. When we remember that we are never alone, and we elicit help from the unseen helpers through the power of prayer, miracles always occur. There are no exceptions.

According to the book, A Course In Miracles, a miracle is a change in perception. This perception entails a change from fear to love.

Fear based thinking is detrimental to your health.

Love-based thinking heals your entire mind, body and spirit.

Alpha Chicks heal their lives with love. This vibration filters out to heal the whole wide world.

Thanks for visiting today. You are loved.

-=-=-=-===-=

I’d like you to stop by my author blog. There’s a lot going on there and we’ll have an opportunity to connect there. Please be sure to introduce yourself!

Kate has been a practicing RN/CRNP for 28 years, and currently acts as a Labor And Delivery Nurse, which is very special, indeed.

Additionally, Kate is planning further “Prayer Prescriptions” books surrounding aging gracefully and Prayer Prescriptions For The Love Of Our Companion Animals.

The Role of Helping Others

A Q&A with Mal Duane. Interviewed by Andrew Mondia, founder of The Pear Shaped View

Andrew Mondia: What is your view in the role of helping others?

Mal Duane: I feel in life that helping others to heal and to live life with joy is a key part of why we are here. There is a universal law of circulation that what you give out in life returns to you. By helping others you also help yourself to stay centered and strong.

I talk about healing and helping as the fifth step of the Five Steps of Faith in the Alpha Chick Process. You recognize your own strength and vibration that you give to the universe when you are healed. When I reference the term “healed”, I am saying that you restore yourself to the perfect divine being you are meant to be, to live your life with joy and passion. Life presents you with challenges from which you should learn.

Unfortunately, many times these lessons pull you from your path and consume you physically, mentally and emotionally. However you were given a divine guidance within that shows you the way to balance and clarity.

Reinforcing your clarity comes from turning to others you know and sharing that guidance. We are all divine beings here to support one another in life.

Live Faithfully,
Mal Duane

What is Faith?

The foundation for the process of personal transformation and creating positive change in your life is through the use of Faith. I write about this extensively inAlpha Chick.  Anything you want to be, to have or to do, can be directly linked to the amount of Faith you hold within.

Faith is not tied to a specific religion but rather our personal connection to spirituality. It is our interpretation of our beliefs that we want to manifest in our physical experience. It is Faith that creates the growth of the seeds we plant in our gardens. We must water the seeds with hope and fertilize them with love. Our garden will yield that which we have Faith in, or so as we believe.

We do not have to go to any specific church or service to connect with Faith. We can wake up and embrace it every morning. Faith is always available to us, no matter what we do or how we behave. Faith is always there. It doesn’t judge one over another. We never really lose it; it just becomes misplaced in the darkness of our soul. However once we step back into our light, the brilliance of Faith comes shining through.

Faith is the driving force behind all desires. Faith ignites desire and desire is the energy that is the power of creation in our lives. Everyone can hold this powerful magnetic force; nothing can take it away except your lack of belief or negative thoughts. In the same manner, we have the ability to multiply it. When I am unsure, I reach out to my Faith, it assures me and comforts me when I am in pain. I reach out to Faith when I feel I can’t go on in a situation, it lifts me up and puts me back on my spiritual path.

Why is it that so many ignore the existence of Faith or choose not to use it? Faith is one of the most precious gifts we are given in life. It does more good than money; it brings more wisdom than knowledge. You can’t touch it with your hand but you can feel it with your whole body. It is one of the mysterious miracles of life.

Simple but perfectly said, “You block your dreams when you allow your fear to become greater than your Faith,”- Mary Manin Morrisey.

What is keeping you from using Faith in your life to create everything you want?

Live Faithfully,
Mal Duane

Review by Dr. Irene Conlan – Alpha Chick: Five Steps for Moving from Pain to Power

I’m honored by the extensive review of Alpha Chick from Dr. Irene Conlan, founder of The Self Improvement Blog.

Here is Dr. Conlan’s complete review of Alpha Chick:

“Mal Duane has a story to tell and tells it brilliantly in her recently released book, Alpha Chick: Five Steps for Moving from Pain to Power. Hers is not a story of a struggle from rags to riches. It is a story that reveals the deep suffering each of us can experience regardless of financial status, beauty, intelligence and ability or talent. Mal had all of these even though she wasn’t always aware of them. Her suffering came from her own belief that she wasn’t “good enough,” didn’t “measure up. ” Being a successful model and becoming financially successful in real real estate didn’t prove to her that she was worthy of a loving, successful relationship and high self esteem. She spent ten years battling an alcohol addiction that she used to help her cope with her inner pain.

Her story, however, is much more than a story of moving from helplessness to empowerment, from drunkenness to sobriety or from”not good enough” to an Alpha Chick. It is a story of service, of giving back, of reaching out to others. It is a story of a woman who, like the Phoenix, rose from the proverbial ashes of insecurity and became a powerful force to help women who were also in pain. It was from her own suffering that the “Alpha Chick” was born – “a spiritual being who has worked to deepen her connection with and faith in the Divine presence within—your source of guidance, passion, and personal power—in order to meet life’s challenges with purpose and strength.”

The second part of the book is what Mal came to understand as a practice that would help other women rise out of the ashes of their own specific suffering. Her program is explained by the acronym FAITH which represents Focus, Acceptance and Attitude, Identification and Intention, Thoughts, and Healing and Helping. It is a program that works. It is practical, down to earth, and doable. It is flexible and can be followed by any woman regardless of her financial situation, social status, or spiritual path. Mal gives you the information you need to complete each step and holds your hand while you do the deep inner work and complete the exercises that help you move through each challenge.

Mal Duane has bravely opened herself to the scrutiny of all who read her book – not in a “poor me” way or in a “look how wonderful I am” way. She has opened herself in a manner that is honest, warm, strong and loving to help other women triumph over their own suffering. It is an act of bravery reserved to those who have come to have a deep understanding and acceptance of who they are and what they have to offer to the world.

I recommend this book to those women (and men) who are struggling with self esteem issues, who are fighting an addiction, who are stifled by unloving relationships, who seem to be going backwards in their life rather than forward. If you aren’t satisfied with your decisions and where your life is headed, Alpha Chick could hold some important answers for you. Mal has made available to everyone an Action Guide that will help you get started NOW – even before you get the book. You simply need to download it. It is good. Take a look.”

Charlene Proctor-Oneness Gospel

Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 4 of the Virtual Blog Tour of author Charlene M. Proctor whose book The Oneness Gospel:  Birthing the Christ Consciousness and Divine Human in You launches on Amazon on Tuesday April 24, 2012.

Charlene M. Proctor, Ph.D. is an ordained Minister of Spiritual Peacemaking and a “Deeksha” facilitator trained by the oneness guides from Fiji and India.  She is the bestselling author of Let Your Goddess Grow! 7 Spiritual Lessons on Female Power and Positive Thinking and The Women’s Book of Empowerment: 323 Affirmations That Change Everyday Problems Into Moments of Potential. Her Midwestern sensibility and spiritual approach to self-empowerment has helped thousands awaken to their Divine magnificence within.

Author Charlene M. Proctor, Ph.D. has written a new book that brings us back to the Essence of true spirituality. The book, entitled The Oneness Gospel: Birthing the Christ Consciousness and Divine Human in You, is a rich mix of science, spirituality and mysticism that transcends the boundaries of religion, and uplifts the reader to that place of Oneness. An ordained Minister of Spiritual Peacemaking and a Deeksha facilitator trained by the oneness guides from Fiji and India, Charlene’s mission in life is to help awaken to their Divine magnificence within all humanity.

Yesterday, Charlene visited Gill Potter at //yoursacredpurposeblog.com/2012/04/virtual-interview-with-charlene-m-proctor/, where they talked about biggest diseases, enlightenment and “The dark night of the soul.”

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Charlene when I got to ask her some questions on deeksha, letting go and releasing suffering.  I hope you enjoy it.

——-

Mal Duane: I would love to know more about receiving deeksha. Is this something others can do?

Charlene M. Proctor: Many believe enlightenment is a neurobiological event and happens through grace, or the holy presence. It is the ability to disengage from old emotions, traumas, habits, assumptions, traumas, conditioning, and the masks you have constructed in order to survive. Enlightenment is high level of awareness. Indian traditions teach that enlightenment can only be given as a gift of grace, where it facilitates a neurobiological change in the brain.

This neurobiological shift happens through means of a transfer of energy known as the deeksha which is meant to re-pattern the structure and physiology of the brain. At the Oneness University, this blessing was freely given by Sri Amma Bhagavan and has grown as a movement for many years. As a person receives deeksha, they find himself or herself in a state of enlightenment. This is not necessarily a mystical state, but simply a state of experiencing reality as it is, without the limiting filters and conditioning of the human mind. Many westerners are currently seeking this experience.

Receiving deeksha often feels like you are being scrubbed clean. It is an experience of being loved unconditionally, in a state of total bliss, peace, and calm.  You feel fully present with no negative emotions or worries. Many report feeling a state of innocence, freedom, and non-judgment.

Mal Duane: What methods do you use to let go of old programming?

Charlene M. Proctor: Filtering life through “old programming” is a widespread experience that many people feel they are living life unconsciously. Their reaction to current day situations stems from past behaviors or experiences that prevent them from living a full life.  Old programming is the carryover of emotional patterns. We inherit these patterns from culture and our families. Negative statements such as “women cannot do this” or “you are not good enough” are examples. Religion is responsible for a lot of societal conditioning, as well as old traumas, dramas, or stories. This becomes a ‘knee jerk reaction to living’ and results in a person living on autopilot where every experience is filtered through old programming.

A step toward personal growth is a willingness to release the past and chose the present moment, to a life that is filled with joy and awareness of what is.

Affirmations are positive present day statements that bring awareness of WHAT IS. Remember, all conditioning is negative because it takes away our awareness of what is. We resolve it by being aware, seeing, asking for grace. So, be willing to look at any conditioning that alters your view of reality.

In India, there is a process called Samskara Shuddhi. Shuddhi is a Sanskrit word that translates as “cleansing or purification.” Indeed there are many types of purification. There is physical cleansing that can be achieved through techniques such as nadis shuddhi, alternate nostril breathing. Samskara Shuddhi is the practice of cleansing past impressions, experiences or relationships (samskaras).

You enter a fairly intense process of self-examination during which you are offered the opportunity to see yourself from many facets, including the deep, dark and ugly. You see and clear your emotional issues, your negative conditioning and childhood patterns, and let go of the fixed ideas that have held you in suffering for so long. You then move along into a process of emptying, through which you see “through” the self, and thereby free yourself from the self. From this new state of being, one is prepared for others phases of awakening.

Mal Duane: How can women release suffering?

Charlene M. Proctor: A step toward personal growth is our willingness to release the past and chose the present moment.

With any family there is always some suffering. Carrying huge burdens of magnitude or watching a family member spiral into a personal hell is not easy. There is emotional suffering for all involved with diseases, such as cancer, alcoholism, drug addiction, or whatever the family member is going through. Women, and especially mothers, take that on as their own.

Emotional trauma takes a physical toll on a human being and we carry that in our energy layers, our koshas, and it perpetuates disease. These stick in our bodies and are called emotional charges. Prayer and meditation can help release these charges, being blessed by others, affirmative thinking, forgiveness, and opening your heart to someone, no matter the circumstance. Deeksha is important as well, as it helps loosen up the emotional charges in our bodies, and helps us release them.

We, in the West, are experts at suffering management.  We stuff our suffering. We go to therapy, eat, drink, complain, get mad at our families, run away, watch TV, shop more, and look for love in the wrong places. We don’t face our suffering head on and allow it to fill us. We need to feel it and stay with that pain until it passes. We think that the way to deal with suffering is to contain and manage it.  That is not the key to living in joy and the way to fully experiencing life.

Part of a woman’s suffering is thinking we must live life perfectly, or like a perfect person without anger, being positional, fear, or any negative emotions.  We will always have those emotions, as long as we are on the planet.  The key to not being in suffering is to move through our negative states quickly and efficiently, without causing harm to others. Recognize when you are suffering and be willing to let it go!
